Why this course?

Many people are comfortable with the processes of their job but lack confidence when talking to bereaved people – aware they need to be sensitive but with only their personal experience to guide them. Unfortunately learning by mistakes in this arena means potentially causing hurt or upset to someone who is already struggling.

This short course, developed jointly with the bereavement charity Cruse, helps you better understand how loss affects people and how to support them with empathy and confidence.

Who is it for?

This confidence-boosting programme is ideal for anyone who wants to improve their communication skills with grievers, recognise signs of complex grief, and know where to signpost those who might need additional support.
